I’m no expert on WWII but in my humble opinion one would have to wonder why would Japan hook up with the Germans who were led by Hitler at that time.
Even though we did not know the extent of his own horrible policies until after the war. He did not look like a good guy but Japan throwing in their lot with them said a lot about who they were. No?

It was a marriage of convenience. For the same reason, the UK ended up on the same side as the Soviet Union.
Is there any examples of co-ordination between Japan and Germany during WW II?
