A monitoring report from the city of Paris has revealed that the Seine river remains too dirty to accommodate the Paris Olympics triathlon and open-water swimming events.
...
routine samples taken from June 10th to June 16th at various locations along the Seine revealed elevated levels of E. coli bacteria.
...
the water quality was considerably reduced due to the unusually high rainfall in May and the recent wet days.
It also mentioned the absence of sunny days or times with reduced streamflow, which can aid in the reduction of bacteria.
Third worlders and people protesting the Olympics.
I saw the Seine years ago when I visited Paris. Nobody could pay me enough to touch that water much less swim in it. It’s basically an open sewer.
That’s they drink wine.
Ironic, considering that the ‘Paris Agreement’ is supposed to be an iconic moment in environmentalism and prevention of climate change.
How long until some French politician comes up with the idea of dumping chlorine in the river? :P
It was only meant to drive the costs in the US up, because the US was the only one to keep the conditions.
Third worlders crap in the streets and the rain flushes it into the river
This may turn out to be one huge embarrassment for the French.
From a couple of weeks ago...
So there’s that...”Merde! Merde! Merde!”
And from last year...
And from 1910, a book on civil engineering that discusses the sewer that was, and still is, the Seine...
It is all about carbon. Pollution of water and air no longer matters.
US Olympic and other teams will bring their own AC units to Paris, undercutting environmental plan

I wonder if they realize if electricity in Europe is delivered at 220 volts?
Also don’t forget the Seine is full of large Sharks. I saw a movie about that the other day.
Quelle dommage......not exactly Chanel eh?
I wonder if this is retaliation from third world countries after Europeans made a big deal about polluted lake in the previous Rio Olympics in 2020
220 , 221 - whatever it takes.
