But the Swedes were the most dominant immigrants, coming there to build farm equipment (the QCs was the world capital of that industry from around the 40s to the 90s, with Deere, IH/Farmall, and J.I. Case having multiple plants there).
A conductor my dad knew worked the Chicago to QC route. Upon approaching Moline he would announce “Moline!”, and commonly notice Swedes that spoke no English not preparing to get off. So he would announce, “John Deere!”, and the Swedes would then react.

Lol! My wife and I moved down here in south central TN, only because of our son marrying an AL girl, and then the following grandkids from that union. I left a lot of blood, sweat, and tears in the soil from my 62+ years of living in Mercer county, IL.
You simply dress for the cold. There were hot days up there, just not as many. And I never saw one poisonous snake in all those years. I’ve seen about a dozen in the 7+ years living down here (several being road kill).
The three most common perpetrators are firearms, SUVs and skin pigment.
For some reason it took society longer than it should have to recognize the threat posed by these entities.
They all need to be brought to justice!

Let me make my point a little clearer for you. When, in northern cities, square mile after square mile of urban homes are bulldozed into big rubble piles for haul off and thousands of stores are boarded up and unemployment explodes it is axiomatic that people head to where there is opportunity for work.

You mean all this time I’ve been thinking human intentionality its what causes people to commit crimes, but in reality crimes are committed independent of the human mind by skin pigment?

My comment was that firearms and SUVs did NOT do anything by themselves...They required a PERSON to use them...
As far as “skin pigment”, the most recent race-specific age-adjusted homicide rates are 33.6 per 100,000 for African American persons, 12.9 for American Indian and Alaska Native persons, 6.9 per 100,000 for Hispanic persons, 3.3 per 100,000 for White persons, and 1.7 for Asian and Pacific Islander persons.

To clarify our discussion: in recent years, communists and other liberals have tried to characterize SUVs and firearms as an independent cause of criminal injury and death.
Of late on this site, posters of unidentified ideology have attempted to create the impression that the skin pigment melanin is an independent cause of criminal injury and death.
But it doesn’t take a genius to see that skin pigment is not a being with a mind.
