It seems a certain group of ?people? have shootings for weddings, funerals, birthdays, any holiday, graduation, sporting event, sunrise, sunset, midday, midnight...The list is endless...They just love to kill each other....

The observance of juneteenth is supposed to mark the date of June 19, 1865, when Union troops arrived in Texas and announced that President Lincoln had issued the Emancipation Proclamation.

I know historians have debated whether the Emancipation Proclamation was really a legally binding executive order. As noted, it was just an academic discussion and a moot point with the passage of the 13th amendment.
