“Rather amazing the silence from media outlets”
They’ve been SPIKING stories as long as I can remember. The first time that I really noticed it was in 1992, when the largest protests in the US since the Vietnam War, to this day (at least when measured by arrests made), yet how many Americans know what it is, even back then. I doubt 1% of the country knew.
The only thing that surprises me is that the media continues to use this technique, and even more so, that it still works, very effectively.
After reading your post, BobL, I’m STILL among the 99% who don’t know about it, lol.
If you want to tell us about an event the news media spiked, then TELL US ABOUT THE EVENT!
Who participated in this massive 1992 protest?
Where did it take place?
What were they protesting?
Be well, FRiend.
An old time journalist, whose name escapes me now, once observed that “the greatest power of the media is the power to ignore.”. And the media certainly operates on this principle, that “if we don’t cover it, it didn’t happen.”
