A crime-plagued California city may be one step closer to reversing its misfortunes after taking drastic action against its progressive mayor.
Sheng Thao will face a historic recall election in November amid anger over her failure to get a grip on the situation in Oakland.
The progressive Democrat lawmaker is the first mayor in the city's history to be up for recall, after a campaign to oust her gained more than 40,000 signatures.

Not only is it unsafe to walk the public streets, people even try to avoiding driving through town lest they suffer a car breakdown and get stuck there (or get rammed)
Oakland’s biggest problem is that the policies aren’t progressive enough. Keep accelerating to the left, until utopia is achieved. Just look at San Francisco: almost there!
