MOSCOW, June 19 (Reuters) - A strategic partnership pact signed by the leaders of Russia and North Korea on Wednesday includes a mutual defence clause under which each country agrees to help the other repel external aggression, Russian President Vladimir Putin said. "The comprehensive partnership agreement signed today provides, among other things, for mutual assistance in the event of aggression against one of the parties to this agreement," Putin said.

I can only assume this new treaty has its own Article 5. Not only do the NORKS have an unlimited supply of artillery tubes and ammo for its alliance partner, it also has a standing army of 1.4 million.

unless I'm mistaken Red China,Russia and North Korea are now good friends. That's obviosly due to the fact that they see the Big Guy's weakness and that they're lauging at US generals who are saying that white supremacy is the biggest threat we face today.

To quote Colonel Jessup's words to LT Kaffey "you just weakened a nation today, son!"

The North Korean army would advance as far as the first grocery store and stop. This was the problem with the final large German offensive towards the end of WWI. They broke through the lines and the troops stopped to loot food and liquor and the officers couldn’t get them to advance any further.

You know, the Coalition of the Sanctioned has 5.5 million in trained, active duty military and most of the nukes in the world. You do know that without bone headed, globohomo/neocon DC policies there’d be no anti American coalition arrayed against us, only the California type maniacs.

I’m hard pressed to see how this moves the needle at all for Russia in giving advantages it didn’t already possess before this treaty. Russia was already getting artillery shells from the Norks. How would the Norks send their army to help Russia in Ukraine, ostensibly? Walk?
Do the Norks have a credible nuclear umbrella with which to offer others protection under?
I think the Norks can barely feed their army sitting at home, much less logistically supply it while and during sending it abroad to fight battles, no?
A difference (this pact) which makes no difference, IS no difference.

A thing Stalin's slaves built called the Trans-Siberian railroad

In a bargaining situation each side has something the other wants. You have to assume this was something North Korea wanted. It’s not something physical and real in the current or foreseeable contexts. Therefore, it is political. The North Koreans see it as an increase in stature and acceptance...normalization amongst the world’s evil empires. Also, the North sees the entire world, including China, as potential enemies. Thier dictator would make a raving paranoid seem as normal as the clerk who rings up your grocery order. (I assume that clerk isn’t also stocking you at your home. You can’t tell. They smile too much.) *Where the Hell did I leave my tinfoil?*

Hello? Did you know there’s a war going on between Russia and NATO’s entire war making cache of materiel along with all of NATO’s Intelligience capabilities and its best technicians? While NATO personnel operate all the high tech stuff, our Uke allies all grunting and doing most of the dying. If you didn’t hear about that, I’m sure you didn’t hear that NATO ATACMS are to be used for attacks deep INSIDE Russia. Let’s try to pay attention, it’s only WWIII.

Worth repeating, but likely to fall on deaf interventionist ears.

Thank you.
I wonder how many separate rail lines it has and how often it would have to be bombed/sabotaged/destroyed at strategic intervals of a couple days apart in many places to render it totally ineffective in moving anything? Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

I wonder how many separate rail lines it has

I believe it was Stalin who upgraded it from a rickety single track line into a double track line.

Since then, more lines have been laid connecting east and west.

and how often it would have to be bombed/sabotaged/destroyed at strategic intervals of a couple days apart in many places to render it totally ineffective in moving anything? Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

Experience in WW-II and even North Vietnam showed that railways could be returned to service quite rapidly (48-72 hrs max) even after massive bombardment.

I don't think any repair data exists concerning modern warfare such as aftermath of strikes by flights of B-1, B-2 and B-52 dropping looong daisy chains of JDAMS along a stretch of track.

Then there is the diruptive potential of drones.

Yes, do let's. Russia invaded Ukraine. Do you remember that far back? So Ukraine is striking Russian logistics supporting that invasion, in self defense. No Ukrainian troops are entering Russia. Do try to keep up.
