I really don't understand why people will pay triple or more to spend most of their time waiting in line at a Disney Park.

This is an interesting question and one which highlights a contradiction in our human nature. Of course, no one enjoys or looks forward to standing in long lines once one arrives at the park. However, the real excitement is largely felt beginning weeks before from the thought of going there, and perhaps not so much being there, with the endlessly long lines, the crowds, and the constant nickel and diming. The ecstasy is in more in the anticipation, rather than the thing itself.

Fine, but why not do it with Mr. Rogers and friends like Daniel the Tiger instead of the better known Disney characters?
