Beckwith poses a ‘serious threat’ to Braun’s campaign, says GOP powerhouse lawyer

Republican gubernatorial nominee Mike Braun faces a “serious threat” to his candidacy after Noblesville pastor Micah Beckwith was selected as his running mate, according to an internal campaign memo penned by prominent conservative attorney Jim Bopp.

The five-page report, obtained by the Indiana Capital Chronicle Sunday evening, outlines “several negative effects” of Beckwith’s nomination, including concerns that Beckwith will cause “division and chaos” and “undermine” Braun’s leadership.

Chief among Bopp’s worries, however, is the possibility that Beckwith could keep Braun out of the Statehouse altogether.

“Beckwith’s nomination as Lt. Gov poses a serious threat to the Braun candidacy, election and administration,” Bopp wrote, later saying in the memo that “the Democrats have a real opportunity to launch a serious campaign in the fall because of Beckwith’s nomination, and it has already begun.”

The Terre Haute-based lawyer and staunch anti-abortion advocate theorized that current Democratic gubernatorial nominee Jennifer McCormick could be swapped out with Joe Donnelly, a former U.S. senator from Indiana, and she would be moved to the lieutenant governor spot on the ticket.

Bopp said the Democrats’ campaign “would focus almost exclusively” on Beckwith and his “radical” views. He pointed specifically to a video Beckwith made after the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, in which he said the assault was “divinely inspired.”

Bopp predicted “tens of millions would be spent” on “endless ads quoting and featuring” the radical pastor’s statements on that issue and others, forcing Braun to begrudgingly support or distance himself from Beckwith — either of which could sacrifice votes.

Boy, just read this tripe to get inside the mind of a "GOP powerhouse lawyer."

(huffing and puffing) "Boy you just better not ever nominate a real conservative!! Because if you do, why, why, the Democrats will attack relentlessy!! (huff, huff) Better to go with our milquetoast candidate!!"

And so the story goes for decades now.

NO MORE!

Translation: the Establishment of Indiana is PISSED! Good!

The RINOs are very pissed, as are the leftist Democrats who bragged on the Indiana and Indianapolis subreddits about switching parties in the primaries to vote for the RINO GOP candidates and why Beckwith probably got nominated.

The milquetoast RINOs in this state, and that includes Holcomb, have gone out of their way to smash any actual conservative movements of power, going so far as to, like Texas RINOs, trump up legal attacks and charges against party members they feel are rocking the boat. Like Curtiss Hill who, when he started actually enforcing conservative laws and going after the transgender lobby suddenly was accused of Sexual Harassment charges by women in his own party and he was summarily drummed out of the office.

Note also that the Capitol Chronicle is a leftist propaganda rag -
“The Indiana Capital Chronicle is an affiliate of States Newsroom, the nation’s largest state-focused nonprofit news organization, supported by grants and donations. It is free of advertising and free to readers. We retain full editorial independence.

Every Western country, they do this.

They think they are entitled to conservative votes, conservative Christian votes.

They campaign in primaries and leadership campaigns and nomination meetings for our support.

Then they signal to the Elite that they have contempt for us, that we are extremists, but at the same time we are supposed to vote for them anyway, for yet another term in office of betrayal, lies and backstabbing.

ZERO SEATS needs to go global !

Mr. Bopp is associated with National Right To Life the “Pro-Life” political front group for the GOPe.

I was in the room with them and its about how to frame issues to win elections go down the middle talk sideways about abortion like abortions on military bases, partial birth abortions and the list goes on.

Glad the Supremes ruled the way they did in 2022 cut out the political nonsense the political establishment in the GOP gave us over abortion.

People you’re missing something. The good thing about Braun-he’ll be replaced by a more conservative senator. Park him in the governors mansion where he won’t embarrass us as much. If he loses to a democrat I’ll say he got what he deserved. Heh heh.
