Yep. It will be good to see Spanberger go. Hopefully, she will be soundly beaten in the race for governor and fade away to never be heard from again (more likely she will be on the board of Boeing or other such company or be the chair of some “save our Democracy” think-tank).

There is also this race:

“Democratic voters are set to choose their favored candidate to take on Kiggans in Virginia’s 2nd District, a swing seat that encompasses Virginia Beach and much of the surrounding area.

Kiggans flipped the seat into Republican control during the 2022 midterm elections, making her one of just 17 House Republicans seeking reelection in a district that was carried by President Joe Biden in 2020. The first-term incumbent is considered a top target for House Democrats as they attempt to win back control of the lower chamber.

Two Democrats will compete for the party’s nomination: Navy veteran Missy Cotter Smasal and Jake Denton, a constitutional and anti-defamation attorney. The district is rated R+2 and predicted to lean Republican, according to the Cook Political Report.”

In Georgia, Trump endorsed Brian Jack won Tuesday’s 3rd district GOP runoff in the heavily Republican district now represented by the retiring U.S. Rep. Drew Ferguson.

Ferguson announced last December he was retiring, leaving the west-central Georgia district the only open congressional seat in 2024. The district - which includes most of metro Atlanta’s southern suburbs and stretches southwestward to portions of Columbus — is heavily Republican, meaning Jack is a strong favorite to become the Peach State’s next congressman.

Jack is a former Donald Trump adviser, and the nation’s 45th president has already made a very public endorsement of his candidacy. Jack finished first in Georgia’s May 21 primary, and at one point was well above the 50%-plus-one margin to win the election outright.

But Dugan, an outgoing state senator from Carrollton and a former Senate majority leader, gained enough votes to make the runoff.

In Virginia, Trump-endorsed Hung Cao has won the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate and will face off against Tim Kaine in November.
