For a least 20 years — long before pandemics became political issues — it has been predicted this would eventually happen and with greatly increased mortality to humans.
Nobody knows yet.
It appears that many of the anti-parasite drugs also have anti-viral properties, analogous to the way in which anti-biotics have anti-bacterial properties.
Which drugs work against which viruses is not clearly known. Ivermectin seems to work against COVID, and it is reasonable to try it against other types of Flu. But it must be given the first or second day of symptoms to be effective. That seems to be true for all anti-virus compounds.
I would like to apply for a research grant to study this possibility. Just have the government send me lots of money. All will be well.
I have a stash of Ivermectin (12 mg tablets) for various contingencies. A typical dose for a 200-pound adult is 24 mg for two or three days). Not giving out medical advice here. This is what I plan to do if the need comes up. It is what I did when I got COVID and that seemed to have worked out.
Hopefully I will never need to test whether Ivermectin works against H5N2("bird Flu").
Note: the 50% mortality rate for H5N2 is based on less than a half dozen human cases with significant co-factors (age, prior respiratory illness) in three of the patients. That is an insufficient sample size. People die from ordinary seasonal Flu all the time. We don't really know how deadly H5N2 may be.
I suppose we will find out after the Chinese keep tinkering with it in their labs and screw up their decontamination procedures. Like they did the last time, with COVID.
So you think disregard for the vax, the BS or what was the misdirection? I’m not sure that 50% of the population would line up for another “EUA” vax at this point. Way too many deaths. The see it they question it even their reduced mind can see the causality even if they don’t burn the street down over it. I’m anti vax (mRNA for you idiots that can’t tell the difference) and I know way to many now dead cancer, stroke heart attacks and even a rapid dementia death. The people around me who jumped in with both feet don’t say it outright but you would be hard pressed to get them to do it again. Idk. Fear is a strong motivation.
