"Affinity’s Unusually High Fees Charged to Foreign Clients Amount to Tens of Millions in Profits Each Year; Wyden Seeks Records on Employees, Compensation, Communications with Foreign Government Entities; Letter also Raises Concerns with Investment Fund Disclosure Loophole"
Washington, D.C. – Senate Finance Committee Chair Ron Wyden, D-Ore., today launched a new investigation of top Trump official Jared Kushner’s investment firm Affinity Partners, which reported that 99 percent of the billions of dollars it manages comes from foreign sources, primarily the sovereign wealth funds of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar. In a new letter, Senator Wyden sought records and information pertaining to the tens of millions in payments Kushner is receiving from the Saudis and other foreign sources every year while exploiting private investment fund disclosure loopholes to shield the arrangement from public scrutiny. The letter also noted that the firm’s reliance on foreign investors raises concerns that Middle Eastern governments are using payments to Affinity executives as a means to influence Kushner and other politically powerful individuals.
Senator Wyden wrote to Affinity Partners Chief Financial Officer Lauren Key: “It is deeply concerning that several Middle Eastern governments are using funds managed by Affinity as a means to pay tens of millions of dollars in fees every year to former President Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, creating significant conflicts of interest and potential counterintelligence risks. These arrangements also raise concerns that Affinity’s exclusively foreign funded private investment funds are being exploited as a loophole by Mr. Kushner and other former U.S. government officials as a means to avoid complying with the Foreign Agents Registration Act and other U.S. laws requiring U.S. persons to disclose payments from foreign governments.”

I haven’t read much detailed analysis but it seems that Kushner is just a slick version of Hunter, sans the drugs and hookers. He did good with the Abraham Accords, but the profiting with everything is a bit unseemly at best.
Somebody needs to probe Wyden’s butt. He’s been known to lie.
Not a fan of Jared but he ain’t stupid. I’m sure he knows his legal limitations and is very careful considering his family connections.
The dims dont have anything but that won’t stop them from making a lot of noise and making up new laws and then getting the media to play along.
They found another man now they are looking for another crime. If HB isn’t charged with FARA violations then none of the Trump clan can be charged. Oh heck, who am I kidding? Of course they can.
Chief of the Far NeverTrumpers heard from and is seemingly supporting more political lawfare. Still clinging to hope that Haley wins the nomination?
My first thought was about HB, and then I realized his wasn’t a FARA violation but actual extortion and bribery. So no, no FARA charges coming...unless you go after his “art” sales to China.
What are you clinging to? I make no secret that I supported Cruz, was among first to support Trump and did support him through last spring, then DeSantis. I’m supporting Trump now and have been for months. I have NEVER supported ineligible Haley. But if you were to read my comments over the years, if you had any honesty, you’d know and respect that. Maybe, just maybe, you could DISCUSS the topic of this thread—Kushner profiting off of the Trump connection. My ire is on Kushner, who with Ivanka as undermined MAGA in the past. I noted his apparently success in help Trump secure the Abraham Accords, but all of the millions of dollars of deals after that look unseemly and no different that what Hunter did. Both Hunter and Jared are foreign agents, profiting, and should be kept far from the White House.
Wyden is STUPIDLY EVIL!! He ALSO needs an EXORCISM by his Rabbi!
Kushner is pretty much the scum of the earth. Hopefully, the rat fink bastard gets life for something.
FARA is about influencing Congress and the government. Kushner is a private citizen and payments to his company are to private citizens. What Wyden is accusing Kushner of doing is what the Biden Crime Family actually did for many years. Wyden is too much in a hurry to stir up a mess that he doesn’t recognize he is looking in a mirror to see all his wrongdoings.
Trump, Bannon, Navarro, Alex Jones, James O’Keefe, Enrique Tarrio, Mike Lindell, all of the alternate electors in several states, all the J6 defendants, etc etc etc...
DC is a criminal enterprise, engaged in suppression of all dissent, and should be resisted in every way you get the chance.
Moreover, no matter the noise that Wyden may generate, a change in the FARA law is unlikely due to the same supposed loophole being exploited by Wall Street, by DC and a large swath of the country's political class and their families, and by so many elite universities.
As I said, your bias against Trump is well-known. Thanks for again confirming it.
Very informative post. Thank you for it!
Again, what bias? Be specific.
“Jared Kushner is the latest victim of the ‘search and destroy’ campaign.”
Maybe, maybe not. In 2005, Charles Kushner, Jared’s father was convicted in federal court of tax evasion, witness tampering, and illegal campaign contributions and spent 2 years in federal prison. Donald Trump, who as President pardoned Charles Kushner, received $1 million in PAC donations from Kushner. The federal prosecutor, who sent Kushner to prison, was Chris Christie who later was elected governor of New Jersey. Kushner was a major Democrat donor at the time he was sent to prison.
Hunter Biden and Jared Kushner only two of the children of influential US politicians who have gone into business providing services for foreign governments and wealthy foreign citizens who benefit from US foreign policy. In doing so they are certainly open to scrutiny.
If the fees Jared is charging for his services to foreign entities are in line with the fees other companies and consultants charge for similar services, he should have no concern about an investigation or his fees being questioned. If the fees are many times greater than the going rate, it is reasonable to question if he is being rewarded for unlawful reasons. Just as it is appropriate to question Hunter Biden being paid $80,000 per month to sit on the Board of Burisma, when typical corporate board director compensation is about $300,000 per year.
My understanding is that Kushner had all these connections before marrying Ivanka... wealthy and connected in his own right...
“ exploiting loopholes” in other words means the Kushner accountants are following the law.
Kushner and Ivanka chose to exit politics after 2020.
Unlike Bidens the Kushners ( Sr) family wealth was achieved without politics
This is a red herring to cover the lack of action charging Hunter from being an agent of China and Ukraine by selling access to Joe
