The History of Flag Day The first celebration of the U.S. Flag's birthday was held in 1877, on the 100th anniversary of the Flag Resolution of 1777. However, it is believed that the first annual recognition of the flag's birthday dates to 1885 when schoolteacher BJ Cigrand organized a group of Wisconsin students to observe June 14, the 108th anniversary of the official adoption of The Stars and Stripes as the Flag's Birthday. I have 5 plugged in super bright LED American flags displayed outdoors and just ordered 3 more electric LED flags that will be here in time for the 4th.

I think I’m doing it just to be rebellious, I did the same thing with Christmas lights a few years ago after a year or two of living here, everyone was so gloomy and didn’t display lights that my rebellious nature came out and I loaded up Christmas lights to the max.

The Christmas lights seemed to have a positive effect on the area and I think the overdone American flags reminder may as well, either way, I’m having some fun with it all.
