“an Indian guy with a Southern accent telling Indian employees to “speak English” and ranting about their toxic IT culture”
Lol....that paints quite a picture.
I met an Indian couple through the nextdoor app and we had dinner a couple of times.....getting to know then I asked him what he did for a living.....his response was he was a software architect of course.....”because IT’S WHAT WE DO!”
LOL!
I don’t know what it is but they sure do seem to have an aptitude for it.
Not really. They just know it is their ticket out. They are not better than an American coder. They believe they are superior to the point where they don’t like to ask questions. Coders from China don’t test anything and Indian programmers assume they know what you want. If I wrote something and the user didn’t like it, I fixed it. That’s not always true in other cultures. It’s what he meant by “toxic IT culture” in addition to the caste system that really does exist.
I sold my house in Ct to an Indian couple who worked at Yale. They had an Indian real estate agent. The insisted that the house be professionally cleaned top to bottom. They never stopped asking for repairs. They treated us like we were of the dirty, low untouchable caste. I finally told the agent the deal was off. I wouldn’t sell them the house. At the closing, they asked for a new stove. My wife told them to f off. Very unpleasant people. I am Hinduphobic.
