The Dems do not have a superstar, and they know it,

They couldn't run a primary, the next best thing is to decide at the convention and let the back room bosses make the decision FOR the primary voters. Best of both worlds, they choose and the public has no say.

Again they don’t have a superstar, so, throwing someone, anyone in last second to try to win, isn’t likely going to work. Doesn’t mean they won’t try... certainly... but they don’t have anyone who is going to be able to step in last second, and motivate and galvanize the base and also sway the independents their way.. not in 8 or 9 weeks.... they just don’t have anyone like that in their bench.

Doesn’t mean they won’t try...

Howevever, personally, I think replacement is just an admission the WH is lost for them and they are playing to try to stem the down ballot bleeding.

We shall see.
