To try to be clearer…

Russia is conducting naval exercises on our back door step.
We are conducting military training on their border.

NATO could have conducted these exercises in Femrance or Germany or any of the other NATO member countries. They chose to conduct them almost in Russia.

Russia is now doing something similar.

Perfectly reasonable response.

When you watch the video of their arrival, it gives you a warm fuzzy feeling...
Five minutes from the east coast???
At least we needn't worry about the Nation's half-assed DEI-controlled early warning systems...

Instead of the covid vax crap, we'll be issued masks and potassium iodide pills...

Potassium iodide is a salt that can help protect you from radioactive iodine. Your thyroid gland is the part of your body that’s most sensitive to radioactive iodine. Potassium iodide can help block your thyroid from absorbing radioactive iodine if you are exposed to it. But the salt doesn’t protect the rest of your body from radioactive iodine, only your thyroid. It also can’t reverse any health issues caused by radioactive iodine if your thyroid was already damaged. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released guidance in December 2001 on how to safely use potassium iodide. In pill or liquid form, it can help protect you during a nuclear radiation emergency.

“That’s the only one you know about. Guaranteed there’s another 4-5 boomers in the Gulf.”

Having been involved in supplying equipment to the NSA, the Navy, NASA and other agencies I have a pretty good idea of the capabilities the military has for tracking. If the Navy loses track of a Russian or Chinese sub, even a diesel boat, they will move heaven and Earth to relocate it. When Russian or Chinese boats go on patrol, they are likely to be shadowed. Also, we have underwater listening posts all over the world. Several decades ago, when the USS Scorpion was lost, they found it by correlating data from equipment thousands of miles away from the sinking’s location. That was 1968. If there are subs in the Gulf, the Navy knows exactly where they are. It would be foolish to send a missile boat into a cul-de-sac when the missiles it carries have a range of thousands of miles. While there are lots of things to worry about, this isn’t one of them.

You are correct. Those Chinese “migrants” are here for a purpose and it’s not good.

Same reason US/NATO has bases all along the russkie border.

Prior to 2014, NATO had a policy of not stationing NATO troops in any nation that shared a border with Russia. After Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014, annexing Crimea and occupying much of Donetsk and Luhansk, as well as threatening NATO members in the Baltic states, NATO has regularly rotated troops in member states Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania, and increased activity in Poland. All of this was based on Russian aggression.

Don’t compare the defenders to the aggressor. Russia is not here to protect anything or anyone, for all of modern times it has tried to destabilize our part of the world and support the kind of people that are the partners of Russia and I think you know who they are and what they are, which is why Cuba of course.

As far as training goes, you train where you might have to fight, military exercises are best when they are training where the fight might be, such as the Baltics or Finland, Trump had us training in Ukraine, you train to coordinate with and learn how to work with the ally and his people, his terrain, his military, his equipment, his situation in regard to the Russian threat, the purpose of the exercise is to make it local, to practice moving everything there and dealing with whatever challenges that involves, the troops need to see the country, meet the people, see the bridges and harbors and air strips, learn about the water and the fields, trees and mud, the buildings, cities, and towns.

And there is no “almost Russia”, like I said, Europe is there and can’t avoid having borders with Russia or being close to them, if they could they would obviously prefer that Russia not be such a hellish threat all the time and move to someplace else.

If they're so secret, how do you know about 'em?

Your pal Victoria Nuland was forced to disclose their existence to the Senate Intelligence committee after Russian forces overran several of the locations.

There was a vote in that region of what you call Ukraine, it was majority Russian speaking, they voted to join Russia.

The US is the one who wants the Ukraine for its own, to keep Russia from having a warm weather port, and to strangle the nation.

Everything the US has done in the world since WW 2 has been see are a pee. We lost to NK, Vietnam, Cambodia, we lost the Phillipines, Central America from Cuba to Argentina, Afghanistan, Africa, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Russia is booting NATO out of Europe.

Maybe being an Empire is not good for freedom of US Citizens after all.

America first, isolationism is a proper method of running a country. If US steel wants to build a plant in Iraq, and the country takes over the plant, tough titties. They made the choice to move over there, and add 50% to the price of imports, for the Treasury.
