Republicans generally suck at elections that aren’t on Election Day in November. Winning a district by 9% that Trump won by 30% may be a sign of that. Hopefully nothing more.

“Winning a district by 9% that Trump won by 30% may be a sign of that. Hopefully nothing more.”

Trump’s margin in this district was no fluke; it really IS that Republican-leaning. Rulli’s performance yesterday was shockingly unimpressive, especially given that the Democrats spent pretty much $0 here.

Rulli did have a contentious primary slugfest not long ago and apparently there is still considerable bad blood on the GOP side.

Democrats can crow all they want about this outcome, but they still lost and they are going to lose in November too unless Rulli turns out to be another George Santos. And maybe even if he does.

The Rats are not likely to spend a dime trying to win in CD-6; as far as Ohio goes they *should* have their hands full simply trying to hold onto their 3 marginal seats (CD-1, CD-9, CD-13). They will probably succeed in doing so in at least 2 of the 3 districts, and probably all 3, since the Republicans at this point don’t seem to even be trying.

Absolutely. Republicans ‘hope’ people come out and vote, Democrats MAKE DAMN SURE that people come out and vote.
