EXCLUSIVE: Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., is vowing to force a vote on Attorney General Merrick Garland's arrest if the Department of Justice (DOJ) fails to act on a criminal contempt resolution backed by House GOP leaders.
Luna told Fox News Digital on Tuesday evening that she would plan to force a vote on her "inherent contempt" resolution against Garland after the full House of Representatives weighs the Biden official's fate with a separate measure.
"As of right now, we fully intend to bring it," Luna revealed. "I don't really have much faith in the Department of Justice. And I don't think the American people do either. But we are trying to bring back a level playing field and show that, you know, there should be accountability all the way up to the top."
She added, "If the DOJ won't do their jobs, we're going to do it for them."

In touch with reality.
On November 6, when everyone here is moaning about the Democrats gain of 60 House seats the night before, remember that I said that it is foolishness like this that is (was) the main reason for the disaster.
House Republicans are constantly engaged in non-legislative and non-productive activity, like "holding hearings", "investigating", and introducing resolutions and even Bills that they know for a fact cannot pass.
Normal people, with all their limitations, are aware that the current House majority cannot take any productive actions on behalf of the people because they have as Members people who think their job is to create memes and to "own the libs".
D+60. You read it here first.

'Don't make me do this, Anna. Ohhhh. This is too hard."
You may be correct. But it does not matter. She could be a combination of Mother Teresa/Princess Diana/Oprah and by the time that the media is done with her, all the female voters will hate her just like they did with Sarah Palin.
Agreed. I hope she never gets voted out of office. But, I also agreed with others here, WHERE ARE THE REST OF THE GOP????
Delighted to know someone in House GOP knows about this. Unlike the few other GOP female rhetorical bomb throwers (Bobbert and MTG) and all the male ones she has the right idea and is proposing action that could actually work. Sadly there are likely to be enough rhino squishes left (3 would be enough) to block her motion. But the GOP majority should reward her with advancement within their leadership.
Now it's appropriate and polite to *briefly*, pause and see if the DOJ will follow with serious action against its titular boss. If zilch, stall or stonewall is the response then the ball returns to Congress. Its proper response then would be to pass Luna's intrinsic contempt resolution and and jail Garland itself. However that plausibly needs stronger spines and such a vote can reasonably be expected to minimize the "not voting." Although the GOP conceivably could have 11 more votes if all showed and voted yea, the left could have had 6 more nays. If all (currently 432) vote and zero Dems flip the GOP could absorb only 2 defections. I, alas, wouldn't bet much on that.
However something else might be within reach of the no longer completely spineless GOP. If Team Biden gives the House the middle finger and refuses to act on having its AG in Contempt of Congress, how much worse does that make the GOP look when potentially two of its own, Navaro (now) and Bannon (soon), are in prison for bogus versions of the same charge! And when, as Rep. Massie and Sen. Paul have pointed out, they have the power remove those charges. A vote to repudiate their bogus Contempt charges and the unlawfully assembled "J6 Committee" that produced them wouldn't take as much spine as jailing Garland, but it would accomplish something worthwhile and it would return Biden's middle finger. Joe might even sputter faster. I'd rather have them do both, but freeing the two would be better than staying hopeless.
I guess some stragglers voted after I posted totals. Final vote 216-207. 7 more GOP voted yea, Dave Joyce (R-Ohio) came off the NV GOP list to vote NAY, leaving 2 not voting. Remember him Ohio! And apparently one Dem flipped back to not voting (now 7 listed there.)
About damned time. I’ve been saying the same thing for months.
