According to The Times, the building is meant to be a “self-contained environment that will insulate its formerly homeless residents from the squalor and hopelessness around them.”

They will bring the squalor and hopelessness into their apartments - in about one week.

The Free Stuff Piñata Estates. Socialist freeloaders love it. Sure beats working for a living.

Will the homeless be given hammers to help destroy the building? Or will they have to go out and steal their own hammers? The article doesn’t say.

A separate police ‘task force’ will be necessary to maintain order in THAT environment

And the new tenants will bring the squalor and hopelessness in with them.

Call me crazy, but I wouldn’t recommend high rise living quarters for people who are habitually on drugs.

Unless drug addiction and mental illness are addressed in this population FIRST, they will utterly destroy each and every apartment in this building in short order.

This is the same “great idea” the old Soviet Union had. It didn’t work there either.

That sounds like a lot of gold leaf that can be scraped off the chandeliers and sold for profit.

The gov’t has no business being in the apartment business. Public housing has always been a failure.

This is about money laundering. An agent for an "overseas" investment firm finances the building and later goes to a bank for a loan against that building.

Rinse and repeat.

Well, I guess it'll make life a little easier for the dope pushers.
Maybe the city will give them a storefront on the first floor.. :)

Skid row...that ain’t gonna go to well.

Other than there, the largest increase in homeless population is senior citizens..over the age of 50 to 55. About one third of the total population.
Of those, about one half are working seniors.
It is those that need a hand.
But, true to form, what is usual the fat faced keyboard warriors post their usual disgusting crap on this crappy site.
Get your effn ass out and join, or help organizations that reach out to those above instead of your snide little cowardly comments.

Nothing is too good for our homeless and for illegals

New trend is hotels, motels, cabins etc are being given to illegals for “free” (the gov pays the bill with our money), and they are paid more than legal citizens pay for a room, so they gladly open their businesses up to illegals

Another bonus to the businesses is that they can fire the8r help, because illegals don’t want personnel in their rooms, so the rooms remain filthy till the illegals leave- then the business hires so eone tO come in and clean the room cheaper than having staff on hand 24/7 to do housekeeping (which again the illegals don’t want evidently)

Also of note is that groups like red cross and salvation army are given a .ot of money to offer the homeless and illegals all kinds of things, so they horn in on the grift too-

No matter how you slice it, this illegal housing is a huge scam and collosal waste of money- it was esti ated that illegals are costing the gov $140,000 or more per year per person now with the massive amount of “free things” they are given, education for “free”, lawyers fees paid, counseling for the poor abused illegals who don’t get all their demands met Immediately etc, plus much much more.

In the mean time Cali owes the federal gov 26 million for fraudulently billing Medicare for illegal immigrants medical visits. Businesses are closing down all over California which means less tax revenue. And they are going to use expensive buildings. I’d rather the $ go to them than Ukraine or wars. But, this is state , not federal $. Newsome doesn’t know how to run a state - economically or in any other manner.

Oh and the freeloading illegals can take a break from destroying their rooms every now and again, a d walk down the streets to the nearest shopping centers and steal up to $1000 worth of stuff to get them by for a day or 2. (Until the centers file for bankruptcy and close, then get sued for not providing illegals an easy income and access to “free stuff that is)
