Rishi Sunak did not consider resigning in the wake of the D-Day controversy, he said on Monday as he criticised Nigel Farage's claim he does not understand "our culture".

After lying low over the weekend, the prime minister on Monday sought to draw a line under the controversy over his early departure from D-Day commemorations in Normandy.

Striking a more conciliatory tone than his apology on Friday, Mr Sunak today said he "[hopes] people can find it in their hearts to forgive me".

The Liberal Democrats said the PM had hit "rock bottom" by being forced to dismiss resignation rumours.

One is not a big fan of Sunak one’s own self, but in this case the truth is what he’s not saying instead of what he is saying. IOW he’s covering for uh... someone.

This is what happens when foreigners, like Obama, are
elected to lead a nation They are just observers of the past. “All this for a flag”, said the First Wookie.

Even after a “soft” invasion by Muslim refugees, the British continue to take war memorials and anniversaries much more seriously and with greater reverence than the majority of American.

The fact that a politician left a memorial service “early” remains cause for scandal.

Would you forgive him?

If he was the elected leader of my country? No.

But at least he had the grace to ask for forgiveness. His opponents in Labor wouldn't even bother to do that.

The bumbler leaves D-Day 80th for a completely self-serving TV interview that could have taken place at any time.

The interview was to get everyone excited about his reinstituting the draft for Britons.

This guy doesn't have a lick of sense. Plus he doesn't even care about this sacred event, one in which a lot of Indians and whatever he is took place in and died in.

Bye Sunak.

We could say “Out of touch” ... but it presumes they were ever IN touch!

Rishi Sunak talking about “our culture” is about the same as Vivek Ramaswammy doing the same, talking about American culture. Not believable.
