Yes, they needed to be told they were snakes in the grass, whited sepulchres full of dead men’s bones, fools, etc. And they thanked him and felt oh so blessed.

Being blessed is not about FEELING blessed any more than love is about the feeling.

It's about the action of being given something good for you.

Likewise, sometimes showing love in action needs to be *tough love*, drawing lines and setting boundaries. It's not giving them what they want no matter how destructive it ends up being for them.
