Judge overseeing Hunter Biden's case previously sentenced man to one year in prison for similar gun charges

Now that former President Donald Trump's trial has wrapped up, all eyes are on Hunter Biden, who's facing trial in Delaware for federal gun charges.

The sitting president's son is the first child of a president to be indicted on federal charges.

According to Breitbart, Hunter Biden might have something to worry about, as the judge overseeing the case previously sentenced someone in a similar case to one year of prison.

[snip]

Judge Maryellen Noreika has experience sentencing defendants with similar crimes, including an instance recently in which she sentenced Zhi Dong for lying on his federal background check form regarding the purchase of a firearm in Delaware.

Blast Bulletin

@BlastBulletin "Judge In Hunter Biden Gun Trial Recently Gave 1-Year Sentence In Similar Case

Judge Maryellen Noreika recently sentenced Zhi Dong for similar crimes after he pled guilty. The defense asked for a six-month sentence, but Noreika gave Dong one year."

The sentence for that case pales in comparison to the charges Hunter Biden faces, which includes drugs and false statements.

Noreika was especially heavy on Dong's situation.

[snip]

While many still don't believe someone with the last name Biden will be found guilty of anything, it looks like the possibility definitely exists, depending on the jury's decision.

Only time will tell.

What will the judge do? Prove once again there are two standards of justice, or sentence Hunter to the same as a in similar case that has come before him?

“My moneys on the former.”

I second that.

Jury nullification is my guess.

Too many dopers out there.

I think a year on this for Hunter Biden would be good, probably best to be hoped for. He's got other charges, so how might that work while he's in court for them?

Sadly though, I suspect he won't get convicted, that unless us, he's above the law to lie on his 4473 and to own a gun as a drug user. Will this pass along to the rest of America, allowing them to lie on the 4473 as well?

All very well and good, but it’s highly likely that the Delaware jury will acquit a Biden. Our justice system is broken. The rule of law has been replaced by party loyalty.

Biden’s ‘Gang’ are an amoral, lawless bunch.
They are NOT beyond texting the judge:
“Nice family you got there, Judge. It would ‘be a shame’ if something should happen to them. Know what I mean?”

I don’t know what influence Judge Norieka has over jury selection, but the jury (with what we already about know about some of the jurors) appears to be biased in favor of the defense. The exact opposite of the DJT trial. Even with the overwhelming documentary and witness testimonial evidence, many of us believe it is likely going to be an acquittal or a hung jury.

So, Judge Norieka may end up not having anything to do with the end result . . .

If he is convicted, I think a one-year sentence would be appropriate, maybe two since he decided to go to trial. If convicted he will likely serve his sentence in a low security prison, which is appropriate.

Based upon sentencing in other similar cases, one year would be appropriate, especially given evidence of HB’s propensity to commit crimes while in the possession of a firearm. If we are going to have the law, it needs to be enforced evenly.

At 54, Hunter is a lost man with a total moral degenerate for a dad and step mom. So, in my opinion, and setting “punishment” aside, the best thing that could happen to Hunter would be 1-2 years in prison. In prison, there would be no guns, no drugs, no prostitutes, no all night parties, no $15,000.00 per month condos, and for once he would have some discipline in his life.

If Hunter is sentenced to prison it means the Democrats are preparing to dump Joe at the convention.

A conviction is not a problem.

He’s going to be 55 and has lots of assets. It’s not like he’s suddenly going to get a job.

However, I don’t think he’s been without drugs for a day in 12 years, so Prison is a problem. Thats why all his stuff has been dragged out to coincide with November, when Joe pardons him without any Political impact (post Election).

Hunter was committing known crimes in 2013, eleven years ago.

Conviction is small hiccup when Daddy has pardon capabilities.

Will he be allowed, if convicted, to stay out of prison pending his appeal?

That’s a big question.

Convicted, but walking due to appeals….daddy loses….pardoned anytime between 06November thru his last day in the White House. Either way, it matters nothing to anyone. Biden’s legacy is in the toilet anyway, springing his crackhead doesn’t matter
