Rex Heuermann, the alleged Gilgo Beach serial killer, is now charged with two additional murders for the deaths of Sandra Costilla and Jessica Taylor, according to court records obtained by Newsweek. The charges mark now the fifth and sixth victims connected to Heuermann. District Attorney Raymond Tierney is asking for Heuermann's incarceration to remain without bail.

Heuermann showed little emotion Thursday morning in a Suffolk County courtroom when his charges were read.

The 60-year-old was first arrested in July 2023 for the deaths of four women whose remains were found in burlap sacks along the Ocean Parkway in New York over a decade ago.

Heuermann already faces charges in connection to the murders of Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, Amber Lynn Costello and Maureen Brainard-Barnes—also known as "The Gilgo Four."

The announcement of more potential victims comes weeks after authorities returned to Heuermann's Long Island home. At least half a dozen law enforcement agents were spotted in Heuermann's driveway on May 20. Cars, including state trooper vans, lined the street along the Massapequa Park neighborhood.

Robert Macedonio, who represents Heuermann's estranged wife, told Newsday the inspection seemed to focus on the basement of the Long Island house.

“Heuermann showed little emotion Thursday morning in a Suffolk County courtroom when his charges were read”

Sociopaths rarely if ever do show emotion, as they have no capacity for empathy.

People like this guy is why the death penalty was invented.......but not in NY unfortunately.

What The Man won't do perhaps one of his fellow inmates will.

The "official" system is a Court of Law, not a Court of Justice.

Prisoners often have more of a sense of Justice, than does a Court of Law.

Way down at the end of this article it says, “A taxi driver said in a sworn statement previously that she believes she saw Gilbert and Heuermann at the Sayville Motor Lodge. Gilbert allegedly told the cab driver that she met Heuermann on Craigslist and was promised financial assistance”.

1. Did this guy kill Shannon Gilbert?

2. The Sayville Motor Lodge - https://www.justice.gov/usao-edny/pr/owner-and-employees-sayville-motor-lodge-indicted-sex-trafficking-and-managing-drug shut down now but these people who ran it are what are coming into our country from these other countries and now poisoning our country.

The implication being that the two extra charges of murder might merit the possibility of bail? Why would a DA feel the need to make the request. Yes, I realize we live in a crazy world right now.

Donnie Wahlburg has a series on serial killers called “Scary People “.

In one episode during a police interview a very young serial killer that had finally been caught told detectives that they have no idea how many more like him are out there killing at will and no one even knows they exist.

Considering how many people go missing in this country annually and are never found I tend to believe that’s absolutely true.

Good. He is expected in court July 30. Not sure what the court appearance is for. Arraignment?

Like the kid I referenced, the most successful and elusive serial killers seem to be the nomads that continually are on the move.

This guy started killing in Alaska and got all the way to Texas before getting caught....who knows how many he may have killed and no one knows about and he’s not admitting to.

That’s what Ted Bundy and others did and took a long time to catch up to ‘em.

“What The Man won’t do perhaps one of his fellow inmates will.“

While I agree this will happen, I do not approve. Society should have the nerve to do what is required. Executions should be by hanging in public. Also, if it is determined a person is to be incarcerated, then his punishment is that, and should not involve further risk from other inmates. OTOH, I don’t much mind the idea of a walled off community for sociopaths. I believe there is such a place somewhere in South America. Not sure which country.
