Democrat or Republican, if someone wants to serve they can serve. Just because they may not be able to be slotted in a combat arms branch, they could be billeted elsewhere.
It’s one of the functions of Medical Waiver Review and related Boards - to consider medical waivers for personnel that want to continue to serve.

Biden got five student deferments and was finally declared medically unfit due to “childhood asthma”, the same asthma that did not seem to interfere with his football career or lifeguard job. Biden’s birthdate assigned him a low draft number which WAS called, Trump’s birthday assigned him one of the highest draft numbers possible and he obviously knew it would never be called and it wasn’t . It was not even close. Biden is an actual draft dodger and someone went to Vietnam in his place, Trump is not a draft dodger.

I had asthma as a child and a young man. Didn’t stop me from enlisting, Didn’t stop me from becoming a Ranger..... In fact, being a Ranger kind of cured it.
