Well, that’s one option.
Whatever it takes.
Why is it “reasonable to assume” that Trump will just automatically “become a dictator”? Of course, it all hinges upon the definition of “dictator”, which has in recent times become a kind of pejorative term.
The Latin title dictator, from the time of the Roman Republic, designated a temporary magistrate who was granted extraordinary powers in order to deal with state crises. Once the crisis was resolved, the assigned individual relinquished the title, and the normal functions of government were returned to the legitimate leadership.
Only, something happened on the way to the Roman Forum. Somehow, the crisis never got resolved, and new ones kept cropping up in its wake, making even more draconian measures “necessary”, and perpetuated itself by feeding on the continuing new hardships.
Now, Trump came to the table with every intention of wiping out the excess of critical issues, and he was doing a good job. But somehow, once he was off the stage, the same old issues reared up again and began their rampage through the land.
You tell me, do we need a dictator? Only if the crises stop once and for all.
Really?….you mean worse than the Rat dictatorship that we have now???
