The masks are off, folks. They’re not even trying to hide it anymore. There’s nothing they won’t do, because they have proven to all of us that they own the judiciary, they own the legislative branch, and they own the executive branch and all of the bureaucracies. Question them on anything and, “Oh, that’s a nice life you have there. Shame if something were to happen to it.”
More reasoning why I wish I could find a nice little island out in the middle of the Pacific to retire to. The government is no longer hiding their intention of stealing the next election, and ensuring only their candidates win in the future, whether they be R or D.
This was always their end game. What’s the point in being fascist dictators if you have to pretend?. They want to be like their idols, Mao and Stalin - brazenly flouting their power with the people too intimidated to openly question them. In the minds of tyrants, having to play be rules just means you haven’t succeeded yet.

Had to paraphrase as I don’t have my book any longer. I think the phrase paints a picture of what we’ve come to learn in recent years... No one is trying to hide it and no one has any shame - we have a shameless society!!! Or is that “shameful?” I think both will work.
