Depends on how gross it gets. If the judge decides to jail Trump or prevent him from campaigning, it becomes a minor court interfering with a national election.
If they jail Trump over this, and no one stops it ASAP, there is no USA. Any podunk judge can find an excuse to jail just about anyone they disagree with.
What they could do is issue a stay on anything affecting Trump’s campaigning until the appeals have been fully heard.
Would it be highly unusual? Yeah. So what? So is what NYC is doing!
Suppose some states - Texas, for example, filed a case arguing they are about to be prevented from having a fair chance to elect Donald Trump based on a city judge? Suppose a dozen states filed an election interference case?
We’ve already crossed that bridge. He’s been held hostage and they created charges that have never been used by any of the 50 states, ever.
Sorta like it was unprecedented to have Raids to get a girl’s diary.
Or like it was unprecedented for a U.S. Vice Prez to fire a Prosecutor in another country (not to mention the Billion dollars).
