Trump could threaten Putin with an escalation he can't match, like recognizing a Belarus government in exile as the legitimate government of Belarus, giving Ukraine neutron bombs to counter Russian meat wave assaults, escalating arms shipments to Georgia, etc. Trump knows how to negotiate with brass knuckles, and he gets results.
