They announce them well in advance so that there aren’t any misunderstandings.
When I do a search it looks like we launch Minuteman IIIs every year.

It’s so routine to be on the battle line of the Russian border with American techs aiming and firing American missiles into Russia to kill Russian civilians in their beds. It’s so routine to have the Russians and Belarusians doing theater nuke maneuvers simultaneous to our strategic tests. It’s so routine to have the Uke idiots attacking the Russian nuclear early warning radars. It’s so routine to find NATO totally defeated strategically and incredibly recklessly desperate. I could go on with more of these hum drum, routine circumstances but everyone but you already knows the situation.

Mutually assured destruction. Which makes one wonder, why is the US encouraging (helping even with OUR spy planes) Ukraine attack targets within the country of Russia?

See post 9, the firing of them seems to be pretty much an annual test.
They need to dial it back, especially after the Ukrainians hit part of the Russian nuclear attack early warning system.

Yes they are. The USAF routinely conducts Fleetwide Operational Test Evaluation (FOTE shots). They take random missiles from the field and configure them for test and flight safety then launch under operational conditions. This has been done since the 1960's.
I was in the squadron that prepared the launch facilities (394th) and we did seven FOTE shots in the 2+ years I was assigned there. One set was back-to back within days of each other and one was a dual launch on the same launch command. Boeing did a few launches of their own during that time too. So that was about 10 Minuteman launches overall while I was there.
OBTW, these test articles are selected about two years in advance of the launch. That would mean they have very little to do with current political events.
There is nothing routine or normal about the situation today. Russia should not have felt it needed to be in Ukraine and we should not be making war against whom should be our friend and Ally (Russia).
The BIG PROBLEM for the Neocons is responding to the upcoming Russia above-ground Nuclear Tests. What makes it difficult for the Neocons is that they literally have NOWHERE to do a similar test, as the entire US is off-limits (thanks to Hawaiian Judges) and the rest of the world will go ballistic if we again trash some tropical island. So this test is just fine, but it will be one-upped - sorry Neocons, you should have PREPARED for World War 3, rather than stammering into it.
The Russian government owned source the OP is using, is writing about that routine testing to provoke the more emotional people who look to them for news during this invasion they are conducting.
