My elderly relatives spoke often about what an incredible city San Francisco was in the 50s and even into the 60s - my mother said you didn’t go there unless you dressed up, it was a very formal, elegant city at that time. I’ve seen the old videos and they are heartbreaking compared to what SF is now.

I lived in San Francisco for a few years starting in the summer of ‘73. It was a wonderful place.
