Both NY and FL restore voting rights after completion of sentence.

FL does not restore for murderers and certain other major crimes.

Depends on if a felon gets clemency.

A friend lost voting rights because he had three DUIs.

He stayed sober and gun and voting rights were restored.

Then one night he was asleep at the wheel in the middle of the road and woke up to a policeman knocking on his window.

Let’s just say he’s busy making license plates for the Commonwealth now.
