IMHO this was always a lose-lose situation for the D’s. Blinded by their own hatred they were compelled to try and ‘take him down’ by any means necessary. What they didn’t foresee was in their zeal they’d be exposed. This case was pathetic. Everyone, including D’s, saw this for what it was - nothing but the political persecution of a political enemy.
Outside of those blinded by dripping hatred, everyone saw it. At that point it was lose-lose. An acquittal means it was just a witch hunt, Trump gets stronger. A conviction just makes everyone angry, Trump gets stronger.
Maybe the real end-goal is to give him prison time because they know *somebody*, or group, will become violent....then they can smear all his supporters - but it still wont change anything, more will vote for him with increased determination.
As for those saying “justice was served”, take names, don’t forget.
My democrat neighbor doesn’t agree. He sent out a congratulatory email to everyone on his email list. He doesn’t think it was a mistake, he is in ecstasy and is eagerly awaiting the sentencing hoping for many years. People underestimate the irrational hatred the left has for Trump and his supporters. They would be happy if we could all be locked up with him.
