Former U.N. Ambassador and GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley has remained silent on the criminal conviction of former President Donald Trump as prominent Republicans and former Trump rivals continue to sound off.
Haley's social media accounts have made no mention of the conviction as of early Friday afternoon and neither she, nor her representatives, responded to Fox News Digital's repeated requests for comment.
Haley, who has been on a visit to Israel, posted on her X account multiple times since the conviction describing the horrors of the Oct. 7 attack carried out by Hamas against Israel.

She’s hoping for the call from the RNC to consider replacing Trump.
She’s as reliable as Pence. She was always running in the primaries with the expectation that, Trump would get indicted and removed from the presidential stakes. She thinks her wishes have come true.
These other feral candidates might as well forget it. If Trump gets cheated out of running, people aren’t going to run out and vote for them and pretend the election is actually fair because it will give the evil derailing that has been done to Trump an air of legitimacy.
If Trump isn’t the candidate at this point, people know that elections in America are no longer a valid option.

Assuming we have conniving former-candidates maneuvering in the wings waiting for Trump to be disqualified, Ron DeSantis has a much wiser strategy. Supporting Trump by fundraising and issuing a condemnation of the "trial", he has positioned himself to be the default guy to rally the party to get even for denying Trump the opportunity to run. By already calling the proceedings a "kangaroo court". he can rage against lawfare and rally the troops.
On the other hand, Haley would not be smart to assert that a "convicted criminal" cannot head the Republican ticket. She needs some other prominent party members to make that statement or she'll come off as totally opportunistic and not principled at all. Besides, no one other than the GOPe wing of the party likes her.
By their initial positioning, DeSantis could be seen as the rightful successor while Haley will be seen as usurper. If Trump remains on the ballot, as is likely, DeSantis has positioned himself better for 2028.

Still attacking her for getting married and taking her husband’s name? What are you a radical feminist? She isn’t a conservative and trying to hide something because she took the man’s surname when she got married? That’s what that graphic implies.
I don’t see how she would even be in consideration with the way the primary went. There is some criticism / bad blood that you might be able to get past as far as being a running mate, but it really got much more personal with her than with others.
Her merely announcing she would vote for Trump was more than I expected out of her...I was hoping she would at least just keep her mouth shut and say no more...so if she just wants to stay silent the rest of the campaign, that’s fine with me. Sure beats her attacking Trump anymore and then allowing for a media feeding frenzy to try to divide the party. Her support on the right is minuscule, but even a tiny, tiny amount can make a difference in a close state.

Nope, sorry... At this point it’s Trump or no one, not even DeSantis; who may be doing/saying the right things now, but maybe he’s just cagier than Nikki — after all, will that 10 Million be available to him once Trump is disqualified or imprisoned (or killed) and/or some Exec Order is signed declaring him ineligible?
