Trump in ‘high spirits’ at ‘A-list’ dinner post-verdict, John Catsimatidis says

Donald Trump was in “very high spirits” at a dinner with top supporters shortly after he was convicted on all counts in his New York City hush money trial, Gristedes CEO and Trump camp insider John Catsimatidis said.

“It was a wonderful dinner,” Catsimatidis told 77 WABC’s Rita Cosby of the “triple A-list” gathering on Thursday evening.

The intimate roundtable was attended by about “15 people, plus staff,” including Trump’s son Eric, the grocery billionaire explained.

Trump, 77, “was in very high spirits” despite being fresh off his historic felony conviction, Catsimatidis recalled.

“Everybody in that room believes that if there is not a change in Washington, that it could be the end of the free world,” Catsimatidis insisted — adding that the dinner guests compared the trial to the 1992 comedy “My Cousin Vinny.”

“It’s a joke,” he said. “The entire world is laughing at the United States of America!”

Trump went around the table and chatted up each attendee, each of whom gave their two cents about who should be the Republican front-runner’s vice presidential pick.

The top choices were South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, Catsimatidis said.

Several attendees admitted that they “hated” Haley, but said she could be the ideal pick to help Trump clinch the White House, he added.

Catsimatidis compared Haley — who recently said she would back Trump in the November election, despite their well-documented differences — to Lyndon B. Johnson, saying that “John F. Kennedy hated [Johnson], but he won because he picked [Johnson].”

I have to disagree with John here. Nobody that is not going to vote for Trump is going to vote for Trump because Nikki Haley is on the ticket. She would also spend 4 years backstabbing Trump and running for President. We don't need that.

Then there's this:

Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Miami Mayor Francis Suarez and former Texas Rep. Will Hurd have so far remained silent since the verdict was handed down.

Representatives of Haley did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment. A spokesperson for Christie declined to comment.

Catsimatidis needs to hire back Rudy and allow discussion about the 2020 election steal on his radio station.

Of all the people I’ve seen for the Veepstakes, there is one in Trump’s circle that I think would best foot the bill - she has the smarts, the looks, the fire, the drive, she has gotten to know the Swamp and she would push back against it with as much fury as Trump: Alina Habba.

General Michael Flynn. The fact that his wife stuck with him through the political persecution he's already faced is a resume enhancer that they have the best chance of withstanding the persecution of daring to be Trump's VP.

And Flynn knowns better than anybody not named "Trump" how badly the deep state needs to learn to code.

Why is this guy piping in? A couple weeks ago he had a private meeting with TPTB at Dominion, and fired Rudy a few minutes later.

Screw him.

“saying that “John F. Kennedy hated [Johnson], but he won because he picked [Johnson].”

JFK may have won because of Johnson (and cheating in So. Texas and Chicago) BUT, it may also have cause JFK to get shot.

Habba habba. Never heard of her. Looked her up in Wikipedia. Seems accomplished but why her?

Trump should change his residence to NJ and select DeSantis

Alina Habba.

You choose a VP for their name recognition and ability to bring additional votes to the ticket.

Never heard of the woman, she is not bringing votes.

Likewise, Nikki Haley and Tim Scott bring nothing to the table as Trump is going to win South Carolina. Same with Doug Burgam. He has North Dakota locked up.

He needs someone from a state that can gain him that state he would not win otherwise. Off the top of my head I cannot think of someone to fill that role.

There is more to it than that. We love Rudy but drama seems to follow him wherever he goes. You can talk 2020 and plenty of hosts do, but there is a certain way you have to go about it. He has been given all kinds of breaks in life and the station was very good to him and the way he is acting going on after someone who was so good to him with a vegengeance shows what kind of man he is. There is a lawsuit going on. He has a $148m judgement against him. He is like $500m in debt total now. WABC was sent a letter from Dominion that Rudy was being sued for defamation and Fox had to pay $800 in defamation. They have to protect the station. WABC attornies ruled they can’t have him going off half-cocked about his personal matters and all the rest. They gave Rudy all kinds of warnings. Rudy is a lawyer and has spent half his life in court. That’s great but some of us don’t want to spend half our lives in court. Castimadesis was trying to work it out and Rudy was acting very unreasonable. Then he wouldn’t sit down and talk with him. Didn’t care what John had to say. Then he was demanding double the time and salary. So he had to be fired. Rudy is a brilliant lawyer and we love him and love what he did for Trump. But I am just appalled he would be going to war with someone who has been so good to him. And to prove John’s case, just 2 days ago Rudy had to sign an agreement not to mention the Georgia election workers in an agreement for one of his legal cases he is involved in. The same thing Rudy was warned against at WABC. One day hopefully Rudy will be back on the station. But Rudy owes some people an apology. When you’re in the wrong you’re in the wrong. These people have been good to him and they are trying not to get the station blown up.

Reportedly JFK was blackmailed into picking LBJ (LBJ got help from J. Edgar Hoover)...he had intended to pick Stuart Symington of Missouri as his running mate. Even his brother was caught off guard by the news that Johnson had been picked.

I think Haley would cost Trump more votes than she might attract.

Exactly what Mark Levin says. And the only reason Haley backers are pushing her now is for 2028 purposes. Not to help Trump. To help her.

If Trump is reelected, his Vice President will be the most likely GOP candidate for President at the end of his term. Therefore, agreement on policy is critical.

Ronald Reagan picked George H.W. Bush as his running mate for political, not ideological reasons. For this reason the Reagan Revolution lasted only the 8 years Reagan was in office. Bush followed Reagan, even running as the “third term of Reagan”. However, as soon as he entered office he removed the true conservatives from the White House and governed as a globalist moderate.

We saw the same thing with Pence. Pence went back to his RINO roots.

For MAGA to survive Trump’s final four years, his VP must be committed to America First, individual freedom, small government, and strict border control.

Nicki Haley is a party hack, not a committed fighter for liberty.
