At this point the policies are already set and the bureaucrats and appointees are doing what was already decided upon. Biden's inner circle are scrambling like anything to get him reelected. So maybe nobody's actually running things on a day-to-day basis.

I don't think Obamas running things either, but the window of what's politically possible has changed, and what Democrats want has changed with it. Obama took over Bill Clinton's Democrat Party, which was still a little nervous about going too far. 12 years later, Biden had a different Democratic Party -- call it Obama's or don't -- which is willing to go much further.

I just saw a post by Biden bragging about paying off student debt on Twitter.
He stated he intends to payoff more. I don’t recall even Obama doing that. Yes the paradigm has shifted, everything has went left. BLMTIFA types now call people fascists who were considered mainstream 40 years ago.
