The essential problem is that Libertarians agree on a single unifying principle, but disagree violently on what implementation of what that principle means.

Therefore, the most pro-life (Ron Paul) AND the most pro-abort (Ayn Rand) type activists will both be found in the Libertarian Party.

Further, some LP members are only skin deep in their Libertarianism. 2020 SHOULD have been their year. The response to COVID SHOULD have been the pivotal issue, the one that allowed them to say, SEE? This is what happens when you give up Liberty!

Unbelievably, a significant portion of party members half-bought the Fauci story, and their issue of the year was government seized-asset forfeiture policy.

If the party wasn’t already so small, and almost intrinsically disorganized, I would see a split.
