You do know that Israel has never claimed to have annexed the territory. You do know that, right? It is an occupied territory. It has been an occupied territory since 1967.
Knock the UN all you want. How did Israel get its share of the land? Lord Rothschild did a back door deal with Lord Balfou during WW1 when Britain was bankrupt. The League of Nations gave the land to Israel while assigning Britain as the administrator, called the Mandatory.
The League of Nations morphed into the United Nations. The United Nations declared the end of the Mandate. And Lo and Behold, there was an Israel, created by the League of Nations/United Nations. And the territory of Israel declared statehood, and eleven minutes later the United States recognized the state of Israel.
What did you think, a stork delivered it? Or do you believe in a mythical War for Independence? It was an Israeli territory under the Mandate for decades, then it was a free territory for perhaps a minute, then it was a declared nation state, and eleven minutes later it was a recognized nation state. Who owned it that Israel declared independence from?

Thats news to me. If i recall correctly, on May 22 1967, Nasser closed the straits of Tiran to Israeli shipping which left Israel with little options left other then being choked. Of course this was in addition to MONTHS of threats from Nasser to wipe us out and kick us all into the sea. So Israel took action to defend itself. Of course you already know that.
