“I bet he loses big playing fantasy football, too.”

I’m not associated with the people fantasizing that the US can defeat Russia in World War 3, and neither were US leaders for the past 80 years - until this bunch came into power.

I have not seen posted if an all out nuke exchange WW3 between US and Russia would render the entirety of both countries uninhabitable for the survivors of the initial blasts. Fires and fall out. If not, I wonder if both countries survivors would eventually rebuild something?

Both sides did that cold calculus. Up until recent times, we could have crushed the old Soviet Union and successor state Russia, and they knew it. That’s why Stalin and his heirs never tried it. On the other side, your point about this current bunch is true, our statesmen in those days were wiser and knew the results wouldn’t be worth the cost.

If it is NATO (or part of NATO) and the USA vs, Russia—we win, but it will not be easy. If it is NATO and USA and Canada vs. Russia, Iran, North Korea and China we lose. If BRICKs joins in—we can lose big. America, post war, will be only 48 states as Russia gets Alaska and China gets Guam and Hawaii. Is it worth it? Millions will die to try to beat back Russia.
