Who will tame America’s MIC oligarchs here? Add to list of Trump to-do’s if he is able to return next year?
It took Putin 10 years, with far more powers at his disposal than a US President, to get Russia's MIC oligarchs and their political cronies under control.
Even today, Putin is still arresting defense-industry and state-owned company officials for "corruption." Is it righteous cleaning-out of corrupt officials, or a dictator's typical attacks on political opponents? Probably some of both.
Anyway, while MIC corruption in both Moscow and DC are highly analogous, the solutions must be different - given Russia has a very different culture, history and government system vs. the Constitutional USA.
Trump was under heavy attack from the MIC day one he landed in Washington. He made zero progress - except that he exposed it, for many Americans to see, which is a start. The same attacks against Trump continue until today.
Its why we are so far behind in this regard. We are only waking up now. The only Constitutional solution I see in the USA is defunding/bankrupting our MIC, and then re-building it under a different, de-centralized model.
