Heavy seas tore four U.S. Army vessels from their moorings Saturday while they were trying to assist humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza.
Two vessels are beached along Israel’s coast near Ashkelon while the other two are anchored on the beach near the temporary pier built and put in place by the U.S. military, U.S.Central Command announced.
No U.S. personnel were injured by the stormy seas, CENTCOM said, while Israel Defense Forces are assisting in recovering the vessels, and the pier remains fully functional.

These vessels are designed to be beached. Much better to park on shore than be bounced around like a ping pong ball in heavy weather.
The short answer is because they were ordered to do so. For all the stupidity behind the Biden’s policy. This has been significant technical achievement. No other country has the capability to do something like this.
This has been a pretty well done, up until they get the aid off the pier. Then the fundamental weakness and false assumptions Mr. Biden and his team run smack dab into physical and geopolitical reality. This was stupid idea, and the fact that it was well executed doesn’t make it any less stupid.
You were right!
Perhaps, it's why we are no longer competent.
Our military is a jobs program at this point.
Which is the bigger joke? Biden? Or the military under Biden?
Oh wait. I’m sure the Chinese military branches are going through the same thing. Just look at how precise their military marches compared to ours ... and there’s your proof
” What national interest is being served?”
Biden’s reelection in his feeble mind.
We will lose world war three because we don’t even know how to write in our own language.
Our rank and file military is a lot like the high school ROTC classes that call cadence for marching but can’t walk in step.
You cannot ‘park’ them on shore without suffering heavy damage in a fierce storm. Offshore may be rocky rolly, but they would have survived in tact, if they had good skippers and helmsmen.
Look on the bright side. Hamas won’t get their supplies from us.
