The proper way to handle coyotes is to shoot them.
Though I agree with you, since these are actually people, you need to have an excuse. You can shoot Coyotes preemptively. With the human ones, to preserve their human dignity as “God’s image”, you have to catch them in the actual act, in a “self defense” way.
