If it breaks off, it will float.......

If it breaks off, it will:

1) no longer be supported by land.

2) be driven into warmer waters where it will melt.

Land ice entering the ocean increases the amount of water in the ocean.

I think it would be the case that if/when it was floating free of land, it would displace all the water it ever was going to displace regardless of how fast it melted. Isn't that what Archimedes determined?

If it all broke free in a short time it would most likely create a tsunami. But even if it dipped slowly into the sea, we would get the 2 foot rise as soon as it was floating. The only good news would be is if we could mine it for fresh water from the top to lower the displacement and bring down sea level.

Given a break off, sea levels change. As an iceberg melts no level changes.

Land ice entering the ocean increases the amount of water in the ocean.

3) It WILL cool the ocean, therby cooling the planet, triggering a new ice age.
