Like Biden - the corporate media, democrat party and liberal oligarchs will run cover and make a Merchan out to be a saint. He's a Manhattan judge for Pete's sake. His reputation amongst all libs will be enhanced by this trial. However, if he has aspirations outside outside of liberal la-la land - that could be a problem.
As I said above. He doesn’t care. This is about election interference. The entire objective is to allow the Democrats to say “Trump is a convicted felon” during the campaign. It does not matter if that verdict gets overturned on dozens of good grounds after the campaign. The objective will still have been met.

Even though a guilty verdict would be overturned, the DNC would FLOOD the airways with ads about Trump being found guilty. And the verdict wouldn’t be overturned until after the election.
The judge is a rabid dog. There is no reasoning with him.
If I am from Manhattan I’d be worried that America equates the Rabid Dog Judge to me. This judge has made me very weary of ever visiting NYC. They are insane. Why else would citizens put up with such insane leadership from every branch of government?
I am sure he will be handsomely rewarded, perhaps with a promise to a USSC seat when Alito has his heart attack in August.
