The share of Latino students attending intensely segregated schools has skyrocketed over the last three decades, according to two new reports and an Axios review of federal data.
Why it matters: Intensely segregated schools, defined as schools with a student population that is more than 90% nonwhite, have fewer resources, more teacher shortages, higher student-to-school counselor ratios, and fewer AP class options.
Driving the news: As the U.S. marks the 70th anniversary of the landmark Brown v. Board of Education ruling on Friday, American public schools are growing more separate and unequal even though the country is more racially and ethnically diverse than ever.
State of play: Around 28% of the nation's public school students were Latino in 2021, compared to 16% in 2000. But as the share of Latinos in the country has surged, the schools they attend have become much more segregated.

Not out of control. Just tired of hearing the bs about the NY/NJ area being nothing but liberals,
Did you see Wildwood, NJ?
How about the South Bronx?
Think that looks liberal?
First you have to let me in on what your raging is all about.
Why do you keep raving to me about liberals? I don’t think anyone on the thread, including me, has said anything about liberals but here you are ranting and raving about something that hasn’t been said, for days.
If you payed attention around here you’d see a lot of it.
In other words you can’t explain why you started spamming for days with all this crazy, angry raging on this thread.
I can explain it just fine. You made mention that Trump left NYC for Florida and then mentioned he’d consider going further to Texas.
In that is that rub that all Northerners are liberals or “Yankees’’ who flee the North for greener pastures in the South.
Your emotional raging hasn’t explained anything.
You launched a mysterious attack in post 35 and defensively added that “Trump is a Yankee. Born and raised in NYC”
I pointed out that Trump had fled to the South, and that he might even move even farther away, to Texas, since he had mentioned that possibility just a day or days before.
You seem to have some insecurity that you brought to this thread, it seems to be based on defensiveness about the liberalism of New York City, although no one on this thread had brought it up, and then you got into something about another state and the entire region of the Northeast.
Your post,#20. Where you state, the ‘’liberal NYC Yankees vs the pure, wholesome Texas people’’.
Gee. Generalize much?
That’s what I’m talking about.
All these days later and you are still such an emotional basket case that you are making up fake quotes.
No I’m not. Go look at the post you put up.
Lol, you are the one who needs to look at it, and then look at your fake quote.
‘’liberal NYC Yankees vs the pure, wholesome Texas people’’
To: dfwgator
California gets more political, snaky Mexicans, very different from Texas.
A regional difference within Mexico, like NYC yankees versus the pure and wholesome, Texas people.

Get one of the neighbor kids to read post 20 for you, you keep making up a fake version of it.
I’m not making a false version of anything I’m reading what you posted.
You seem to have mental issues, the next time someone is with you show them what I actually wrote and what you are making up and see if they can match each word and see the difference.
The only issue here is what you wrote. Texans are pure, NYC is full of liberals. Go chase yourself.
Show me where I posted that, or since we have tried that already, find your caretaker and have him or her search for it and then tell you that it doesn’t exist.
