My hunch is defense wanted to move for closing arguments, with Cohen’s disastrous performance as the last impression. Prosecution obviously wants to delay, as the losing side always does. This may well just irritate the jury even more.
Given the prosecutions delaying tactics, it’s now a near certainty that Costello will be called by the defense.
