The Battle of King’s Mountain proved fatal for Major Ferguson as he was shot from his horse and dragged to the Rebel side by his stirrup. When approached for surrender, he pulled his pistol and shot a Patriot Rebel. He was shot eight times by Rebel soldiers and later buried in an unmarked grave.
Thank you for the additional information about Major Ferguson. I knew he was killed at King’s MOuntain, but not the details about being dragged by his stirrup to the rebel lines and then shot multiple times. If I ever write my book about the horrible Harpe brothers, I will have to verify this information. At any rate, the research for that possible book has given me a lot more insight into southern history than I had prior to that research. I can’t imagine that our Southern Revolutionary patriots would have had anything but sympathy for the Ukranians who are being systematically invaded by a Soviet loving dictator.

I was interupted, don’t know if I sent this already.
