There is no more clear case of quid-pro-quo than those made between democrats and the teachers’ unions, and those made between democrats and workers’ unions all over the country, and between democrats and the DAs in blue cities/states, and between black voters and democrats.

In fact, quid-pro-quo is what politics is all about...

so,

punishing any kind of political quid-pro-quo of politicians, is the same as criminalizing politics.

Quid-pro-quo is also what businesses engage in every day, if they are to continue in business.

Employees and businesses also engage in quid-pro-quo, if both are going to get any kind of benefit from their mutual needs.

Correct. ALL political donations imply some sort of quid pro quo, many of them involving financial considerations great or small.
