This is Denver Harbor, you evidently are not familiar with it. And at 2 am no less. Not far from the ship channel and just over from MCcarty street and Clinton drive. That is one tuff part of town. I used to work around there 40 years ago and was not a place for the timid. Almost everyone carried back then even before it was legal to do so. One thing about it, you might be sittin in a ice house beer joint having a beer and the guy sittin next to you in overalls and muddy boots could be a millionaire. You just never knew who was who.

If you are old enough then you know how violent Houston bars were in the 50s and 60s, Airline Dr. bars for instance.

Something changed during the 70s and the shootings and stabbings over pool games and women didn’t seem to happen as often with the white men as they had in the rough days.
