The problem was MTG had no clue what the committee meeting was about. She thought it was a whole other issue. I think she lashed out because she was embarrassed for being wrong and confusing what meeting it was. I can see how she’d want to hide under the desk. Instead she changed the subject to eyelashes.

You certainly don’t know that. Many of the big mouths on capitol hill go on rants on Committee with nothing to do with the issue on hand. MTG was just like 100s of other dems and repubs who do so.
