To be most effective, some incoming would require shooting down over Russian territory, where they are originating, no? And would ones launched from Russian aircraft from inside Russia also need to be downed along with their Russian aircraft, also inside Russia? Would this mean establishing and enforcing a no=fly zone, not only over Ukraine near the front, but inside Russia in at least a buffered border area inside Russia that Putin would use to launch air to ground missiles from? What are the most logical consequences of NATO trying to enforce this from neighboring or regional NATO countries?
I ask in the interest of us all.
Here is an alternative perspective.
NATO is playing a very dangerous game of chicken. All Russia needs to do is to surface and expose ONE Boomer in either the North Sea, in the Atlantic, West of France, or in the Med.
NATO is surrounded by nukes. Go ahead, play chicken with Russia. There is no logical reason to assume a Russian strike would ONLY come from the East!!
Are you seriously suggesting we try to enforce a no-fly zone **inside Russia**? You do know that means SEAD attacks on Russian sites and attacking Russian planes inside Russia?
I mean, I don’t really care, I live far away from any juicy nuclear targets like DC and am very reasonably out of the downwind zones of others. But how do you think we would respond if in Russia started enforcing a no-fly zone over the continental US?
Do you people even hear the things you say?
